Patent Acquisition for a New Indoor Positioning Technology Using Smartphone Applications　– Enabling Continuous Use of Location Information Even During Background Operation –

WHERE, Inc. has been granted a patent for a new technology, “Beacon Transmitter and Position Detection System” (Japanese Patent No. 7797584, Registration Date: December 26, 2025), which enables continuous acquisition of location information by a smartphone application even while running in the background.

When obtaining indoor location information via smartphone applications, it has often been difficult to achieve continuous positioning, as battery-saving measures and device specifications typically restrict location acquisition once the application goes into to the background.

With our newly patented technology, by optimizing beacon transmission information and transmission intervals, it is possible to continue acquiring location information even when the application is in the background.
